ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
Rhys Flint joined his Father John on the training license at the beginning of 2024, something he has looked forward to doing since retiring from riding in 2018. Together we bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from different fields, and head the family run business with John’s wife Martine, and Rhys’s wife Arabella.
Located just outside Bridgend, South Wales, we provide a personal and individual approach to training, with ambitions of a big future.
Gallops
We have over a mile of carpet gallop next door to the yard which features a steady incline and is used for the bulk of our training. The carpet fibre surface is gentle on the horses joints, which reduces the risk of injury and importantly we can use it in all weathers.
In addition, we’re lucky to have access to Margam Country Park with over 850 acres of grassland and forest to ride round to give the horses a change of scenery, a canter on the grass or to freshen them up.
We also use the beach at Ogmore by Sea regularly to take horses for a day away. As with humans, there are vast benefits of cold sea water therapy for horses and they love the variety it brings.
Schooling Facilities
We utilise the products of market leaders Easyfix, alongside barrels and poles to create our schooling lane which is used regularly as part of our National Hunt horses training regime.
This is a hugely valuable asset and one that gets plenty of use.
Stables
Whilst some horses will be quite happy wherever they're stabled, some will be happier getting to look out into the yard and see what’s going on, and some will prefer being in a quiet corner. We have a mix of internal and external stables in different locations around the yard which allows us to stable horses based on their temperament.
All our boxes are large and airy, with deep beds and the highest level of comfort.
We also have a large outdoor arena, a 6 bay horse walker, turnout paddocks and starting stalls.
We’re committed to the highest standards of welfare for our horses.
